Rockford Society, AIA Awarded Local Society Incentive Grant
A $1,000 Local Society Incentive Grant, to be awarded by the Archaeological Institute of America at its upcoming Annual Meeting in Boston, MA (January 6-9) will be presented to the Rockford Society, AIA. The Rockford Society project, Reel Archaeology: A Forum on Archaeology in Film will feature speakers who will explore the role of archaeology in movies at the Peterson Auditorium in the Starr Science Building at Rockford College on Saturday, March 12, 2005, from 1:00-8:30pm. The grant is intended to fund a local society project focused "on public outreach and education" and has a goal of attracting new AIA members. This is the second annual Local Society Incentive Grant given by the AIA.
Rockford Society, AIA Awarded Grant from the Illinois Humanities Council
The $2,000 grant will be used by the local society to enrich its 2004-05 lecture schedule. President of the Rockford Society, AIA says, "Availability of these funds will enable your Board to engage eminent speakers, paying travel expenses where necessary."
