Rockford Society, AIA provides free, open-to-the-public lectures by noted archaeologists and scholars relating to sites throughout the world. Lecture attendees are not archaeologists, but are drawn by a shared interest in archaeology. In addition, the society hosts both foreign and domestic field trips. Rockford boasts a long and demonstrable tradition in archaeology and the eminent James Henry Breasted was born and is buried in Rockford, IL.
It is with great sadness to report that Raymond L. Den Adel (pictured below), founder of the Rockford Chapter, AIA passed away on April 25th, 2014 in Pella, Iowa.
